To ensure that more students can benefit from free higher education, re-electionist Senator Win Gatchalian is proposing the inclusion of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the “Build, Build, Build” program of the government to build more classrooms and school facilities. 

Amid the gradual resumption of in-person learning nationwide, Senator Win Gatchalian again cited the need to implement a learning recovery program to address the impact of prolonged school closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Re-electionist Senator Win Gatchalian vowed that should he win a second term in the Senate, he will push for an oversight review of the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 (Republic Act No. 10533) or the K to 12 Law.

Re-electionist Senator Win Gatchalian is pushing for all schools to conduct limited face-to-face classes. He said this would contribute to increased economic activity especially if more parents would be able to return to work.

The bicameral conference committee has approved the proposal to create the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II). For Senator Win Gatchalian, this is another step forward in pursuing reforms that will address the education crisis hounding the country.

If political rallies are allowed, it’s time we also allow in-person graduation ceremonies. Senator Win Gatchalian made this call as the National Capital Region and 38 other areas shifted to Alert Level 1 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the government preparing for the fourth round of Bayanihan, Bakunahan or National Vaccination Day this coming March, Senator Win Gatchalian bats for the participation of schools and Department of Education (DepEd) field units to increase vaccination coverage in the pediatric population.
